BANBURY United boss Kieran Sullivan will have to make a late decison on several players before tonight's (Tuesday) clash with Cambridge City.
United entertain City in tonight's BGB Southern League Premier Division clash with several players still receiving treatment following Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Bashley, where Sullivan was pleased with his understrength side's battling display.
Sco
tt Bridges, Nicky Gordon, Mark Essex and Stephan Morley all missed the trip to Bashley and United then lost Tom Breward in the first half.
"Losing Tom Breward so early in the first half was a blow. But all three players who came on did very well, especially Steve Howkins and James Peppiatt, it gave both of them the chance to prove to themselves, more than to me, that they can play at this level," said manager Keiran Sullivan.
"Troy Bryan also did very well up front on his own and brought other players into the game. It's a pity we didn't get anything our of the game, we had a good 20 minute spell early on but could not create any chances."
Scott Bridges is available again, Breward and Aaron Stringfellow should be fit to face Cambridge City tomorrow (Tuesday) night but Nicky Gordon and Stephan Morley will not be risked. Mark Essex is also likely to be missing but Kameron Abbassi will have a late fitness test.
Sullivan has also signed Matt Taylor on a month's loan from Oxford United, but the player has not been registered in time to play tonight.
"We needed to bring a striker in as we're a bit thin on the ground at the moment and I don't want to rush Nicky Gordon back too soon. I tried to get Matt earlier in the season but he picked up an injury," added Sullivan.
