Cricket legends and other well known sports stars will be in action at Banbury Twenty CC in August when they take on an All Stars XI.
Sky Sports presenter and Twenty II bowler Mike Wedderburn has assembled a a side full of former international players to take on the host club on Sunday, August 17 at Ermont Way.
The likes of Jimmy Adams, Devon Malcolm, Phil DeFreitas, Ian Harvey and Colin Croft will head the All Stars team along with Norman Cowans, Chris Cowdrey, Richard Ellison, Dave Houghton and Jeremy Coney.
"We lost nine weekends to the weather last season and that is nine lots of bar takings," said Wedderburn.
"For a small club like ours that is pretty hard so we came up with this idea to get us back on an even keel.
"It should be an absolutely fantastic day out and Banbury Twenty CC is planning on putting on a great show.
"I have persuaded a few of the guys who are playing to put on their whites, having vowed never to do so again.
"I would urge cricket fans to come along because these international stars will never be together again. There will also be some great memorabilia which we will auction on the day.
"I've also told Colin Croft that John Wright says he was never any good. Crofty is looking forward to meeting him!"
The action starts at 1.30pm but gates open at midday. There will be a bar and refreshments. Entry is by programme £5, children under-5 free. It will be limited to 500 spectators.
Programmes are available from Banbury Twenty CC on matchdays Bonito's, White Lion Walk, Banbury and Trysports, Bicester.
