Boyd prepares for his first Open

GARY Boyd will begin his first British Open at Royal Birkdale on Thursday, alongside South Africa's Thomas Aiken and Australia's Bradley Lamb. The trio are due to tee-off at 11.10am.
Although the Middleton Cheney golfer will be slightly disappointed not to have been paired up with one of golf's better known players, it means he will have the chance to tee-off without any added pressure.
Cherwell Edge member Boyd clinched his place in the Open after winning a tense extra-hole play-off in last week's qualifier at Southport & Ainsdale Golf Club.
