SPECIAL Olympic gold medallists will join a pirate-theme roadshow which is being organised to celebrate the launch of a new website.
The Follow Your Dreams Roadshow will include fun and games in addition to appearances from Special Olympic gold medallists Greg Silvester and Victoria Loftus.

The event, which will take place in Castle Quay, is being held to mark the launch a new
social website for people affected by learning difficulties.

Special Friends Online aims to provide a safe and secure platform for people with learning difficulties to make and renew friendships by introducing a novel approach to communicating by 'Smiley Talk'.

The facility, which will work alongside standard written messaging, is exclusive to Special Friends and will enable people with learning difficulties, and unable to use a keyboard, from across the world to communicate by converting a series of emotive images into sentences.

These are then translated into the chosen language of the end user.

The site also enables parents, careers and volunteers to make new friends, chat and/or share support and advice in forums.

The roadshow will arrive in Castle Quay on Wednesday (September 10) and will remain in the shopping precinct until Saturday (September 13).
