HRH The Princess Royal visited graduating soldiers at Temple Herdewyke's Army School of Ammuntion today (Thursday).
Princess Anne was greeted by schoolchildren from the nearby primary school before being invited to watch an explosives demonstration of some of the skills the soldiers learn on their seventeen-month course at the base.
Thirteen officers were graduating as fully trained Ammunition Technical Officers (ATOs) - 11 British and two Canadian.
They will now disperse across the country and take up posts in Britain, Northern Ireland and Germany.
The commanding officer of the Army School of Ammunition, Lieutenant Colonel Martin Gliniecki QGM, said: "We are very pleased that our Colonel-in-Chief has taken the time to recognise the work that we do here and why it is so important."
