THE jury considering whether a man is responsible for attempted murder has today (Tuesday) retired to consider its decision.
Shortly after 12.30pm at Oxford Crown Court, the jury of seven women and four men left the courtroom to consider charges against Ian Holland.

Mr Holland, 33, of Edinburgh Way, Banbury, is charged with the attempted murder of Adam Dickson and a sec
ondary charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Mr Dickson was attacked on the driveway of his parents' Adderbury home at 3.15am on June 17 last year. He suffered multiple injuries including a fractured skull, brain swelling and amnesia.

The prosecution alleges Mr Holland is a jealous character who attacked Mr Dickson for wrongly believing him to be the new boyfriend of his former partner, Lisa Cebral.

However the defence argue Mr Holland was nowhere near the scene of the attack as he had been out in Bicester and drinking at his brother's home in Hardwick before getting a taxi back from Banbury town centre.

No forensic or scientific evidence has been found linking Mr Holland to Mr Dickson or the scene of the crime.

The jury is expected to return a verdict later this week. The twelfth juror was dismissed yesterday for coming into contact with a witness through his profession as a taxi driver.
