A new play park for children under six years of age, has been unveiled at Deddington’s Windmill Centre.

The new play area has been funded primarily by the government’s Pocket Park Plus scheme which gifted £25,000, topped up by Deddington Parish Council. A small grant was also made from TOE (Trust for Oxfordshire Environment).

This enabled the old faded plastic play equipment to be replaced by a timber multi-activity structure with its own Windmill house. The natural theme is continued through a willow tunnel, MagPosts, animal shaped springers, and play panels.

A native hedge and fragrant shrubs complete the upgrade. The Pocket Park sits alongside the Parish Council’s Adventure Playground and Woodland Trail for older children which were opened last year.
