A youngster will make amends for damaging a historic gravestone near Banbury by doing voluntary work at the church.

PC Shayler of the Thames Valley Police Rural Crime Taskforce identified the offender, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, and issued a "community resolution" for the criminal damage caused.

The police, along with the youngster’s parents and a church representative, agreed to this restorative method of dealing with the incident rather than criminalising it, in the hope that a lesson would be learned.
